Paper Jams
Problem: Paper Jams
Paper jams are occurring during print jobs.
Suggested Solutions
Information about reducing paper jams:
The air pressure from the vertical transfer (V-TRA) fans on the transfer belts holds sheets on the paper path between the transfer module and the fusing module.
The lower the air pressure from V-TRA fans, the higher the possibility of paper jams.
The higher the air pressure, the higher the possibility of having Image quality defects, such as uneven gloss.
Adjusting the air volume on V-TRA fans can help resolve paper jams or image quality defects.
To minimize paper jams or image quality defects:
1. Access this feature from Manage Stock Library > Stock Properties > Advanced Stock Setup > V-TRA Fans.
2. Adjust the air volume of one of the following V-TRA fans:
V-TRA Fan #3 – between the Secondary Transfer and Fuser Module
V-TRA Fan #4 – between the Transfer and Fuser Module
Fuser Exit Fan – between the Fuser Module and Cooling Unit
3. When paper jams occur, increase the air volume. When uneven gloss occurs, decrease the air volume.
4. For the affected area of the Production Press, set up the V-TRA Fans Test Print as necessary.
5. After each incremental adjustment, if you need more adjustments, run test prints and evaluate the output prints to determine.
