Loading Media in the Inserter Tray
Before using the Inserter Tray, review the following guidelines:
• Remove any remaining media from the tray.
• Load all the media required for the job into the tray.
• To use saddle stitch or bi-fold options, ensure that the media loaded in the main feeding tray, such as tray 1, is the same size as the media loaded in the Inserter Tray.
Note:When the Inserter Tray is filled with 8.5-in. wide, SEF media, its default size is 8.5 x 14-in. If you insert 8.5 x 11-in. media, adjust the default of NVM 769–503 using the Admin Mode tools. For more instruction, refer to
For Administrators.
To insert separator sheets or cover sheets, such as blank or pre-printed sheets, use the Inserter Tray. Media loaded in the Inserter Tray is inserted into the finished, printed output. The Inserter Tray holds a maximum of 250 sheets of Colotech+90.
Tip:
The Production Press does not print on media fed from the Inserter. Instead, the media is inserted into the printed output at selected locations.
1. Load the media, aligning all edges.
For pre-printed media, load it with the printed side facing up.
Note:To avoid jams or Production Press malfunctions, do not load media above the maximum fill line.
2. Hold the center of the paper guides and gently slide them to the appropriate media size so that they touch the edges of the media.
If the distance between the guides is too long or short relative to the media, jams can occur.
If set by the system administrator, the Tray Properties window appears on the main window of the Control Center.
3. From the Tray Properties window, enter or verify the correct media information.
4. To save the information and close the Tray Properties window, select OK.
